WaMM Exchange

VISIT OF WANDSBECK ROUND TABLE, SOUTH AFRICA 17th to 22nd September 2007 The annual Wandsbeck and Maidstone & Malling (WaMM - get it!) exchange took place between Monday 17th and Saturday 22nd September. This year it was the turn of a member of Wandsbeck Table to visit the UK, and their Immediate Past Chairman Graeme Dyer duly arrived in Maidstone on the Monday morning. Graham Jones, himself a veteran of the exchange and a visitor to South Africa on no less than two occasions, met up with Graeme and took him out for the day to Leeds Castle. Following this, the welcome party was held at Graham Jones's house where many Tablers past and present were there to welcome our guest. Day 2 was a day trip with past Gravesend Tabler Bob Watts followed by a Table meeting in the evening, including a new member induction. Graeme then spent a couple of days with past Tabler Steve Parsons in the West Country, where he visited various attractions including Stonehenge, the Roman baths in Bath and he even attended a Championship football match. Friday was the customary visit to London to see the sights and Graeme still had time to spend one final night with Maidstone Tablers and past Tablers in Bearsted before departing for the final leg of his European tour to Scotland to visit friends.
